Welcoming

I like the position we are looking at her from as well as the way she is looking at us. This could work as the opening scene or the cover image of a crime or mystery story and basically this pic would make me want to know more about it.

It would have been great if there was some kind of structure on the floor. Maybe a sidewalk or a gully cover. But even without it I imagine she is standing on some kind of broad street. Also I know you had to start over a new flood pic and had to make it for the deadline.

Judging from the angle the right shoulder (left from our view) is turned to, the arm seems a little long.

Apart from that it looks nice, the facial expression is interesting and she really looks soaking wet. Good job on that!

Nice idea

This boss is a nice idea and sounds as random as possible.

Apart from what has been said before, I can't help but notice that his right claw (left from our view) looks strange. It looks kinda flat and the part where it connects to the arm, the "wrist" one could say is extremely thin and looks as if it's about to break any moment.

The fish on the left looks really funny and I like the HUD you included this time.

Favourite

Was my favourite when I saw the sketch, was my favourite when I saw your WIPs and it is my favourite now that the flood happened.

The whole scene is hilarious, the drawings themselves are great and the crosshatching in particular is awesome.

I love the facial expression!

And in case the cube in the background was really supposed to be a sugar cube, it looks more like an ice cube.

Fifty-50 responds:

Thanks man. You don't know how happy I am right now.

Look at the fishy

The fish looks actually happy. :P

I like how it's winding like an eel, really it gives that impression of movement.

Also having that blank space in the upper part and going from light to dark in the background gives a feeling of being somewhat deep under water.

No need to mention that the fish looks very very good.

Only little thing I dislike is that the shade and the highlight of the bubbles form a ring.

Definitely one of the best entries.

Ashman responds:

i cant do bubbles, the reflections are such a pain to get right

I could list all the things I like about this....

....like the colours, the highlighting, the shading, the pose, the facial expression or the background. But that would go to far, it looks simply great.

The only thing that bothers me, is that the floor is on a different angle than the water spot beneath the creature. At least judging from the ring of waves.

TurkeyOnAStick responds:

Yeah it is! :( The ring of waves was a bother to make, and I think it disrupts thepicture more than it adds to it.

Style

I repeat myself, but you manage to give your pics a great style everytime. This for exapmle could be used for some kind of advertising campaign instantly, because it has a great recognition value.

Also when I saw this piece I instantly thought about Zeno's arrow paradox "the flying arrow is motionless."

Only downturns seem to be the tailfeathers and the background as already mentioned.

J-qb responds:

Thanks, I always try to put some style aspects in my drawings, so its good to know it works. Because water is such a fluent ever moving thing (heraclites) I wanted to capture that for this flood thing. I am quite glad with how that turned out myself too.

Yet again

I instantly remember your pic for the first flood. Again it has those "wild" and sketches lines versus a calm pic with calm colours.

Also I like how the background fades to a black emptiness.

Interesting

I really like the contrasts you included here. Black and white colour, the dynamic in the water and the moon vs the calmness in his pose, the strict pattern in the background vs the curvy and bendy lines in the front, big head and small turban. I guess I missed some more details, but that's basically what I love about this picture and what makes it worth looking at more than once.

Hooray the first...

... and probably only fart joke in this months flood!

The monster and especially the facial expression look hilarious. A farting, see-through bean monster is a very.... wierd, but nevertheless funny idea.

I can't really critique it, apart from the beans and sauce, that are "farted out". They look way less detailed than the rest of the beast.

I like the background, it makes the whole pic seem like the introduction of a new super hero.

That's hilarious ^^

It's really funny. I'm a fan of details and this one holds many funny things for me.

The little beans peeking out of the can and one sitting on the toilet made me really laugh. It would be great if the pic was just a little bigger so one could see them in more details, but still they are great.

Those popped out eyes on the can look cool, too.

The only real problem is, what has been said already. The mixture of softness here and sharpness there can be quite confusing. Good thind this is a crazy pic, so it's not a serious issue in that case.

And I must agree, a background would have been a good idea. But not too much, because there's pretty much going on in this pic already. ^^

It kinda reminds me of one of those matryoshka puppets. You know? Those female russian puppets which you open and find another, smaller one inside and then another and another... only that this a bean with a bean can on it and a bean on that. :P

ZaneZansorrow responds:

Thank you :3, I still gotta remember to save a bigger size ;rq

Hmmm, I still must remember to put up a better direction between sharpness and softness.

Remember: Still waters run wet.
