Beware of the Mascara Ninja!

Nice job on this one. I like how you drew him in some kind of semi-realistic way. Almost like you "borrowed" some cartoony features and even anime style hair.

I think the serious facial expression looks good on him.

The texture on the ninja suit was a nice choice, but I don't like how it is just plain and does not change on the arms or generally does not follow the ups and downs of the body. Though I know this would be a pain to do it all correct, but I still thought I should mention it.

The anatomy on the body is very well done and I take it, the anatomy on the head is a bit more anime-ish on purpose, since it goes rather well with the hairdo.

And finally I also like the background and how you still made the actual char stand out from it even though it's grey too.

Good job!

You should leave reviews more often :3
The texture, I had the same thoughts, but didn't really know how to go about it, then the "well, its just bad fanart anyway" really didn't help in the motivation department either :/
Thaaaaaaaaaaanks :3

Expression, colours and contrast

I think it came out great. I really like the overall colour scheme and the contrast. They create an almost completely unemotional atmosphere, that goes pretty well with the setting.

I also like how you gave them different facial expression while they only have eyes. Most bots look dull or bored and to me #F6 and #F7 look almost sad, while the main char looks surprised.

Not sure if this is some kind of helpful feedback, but when I look at it in full size I always imagine some kind of loud electric buzz emanating from those glowing "control orbs".

Overall, good job of course.

Well done

You did a great job bringing the main idea across. The contrast is ever-present, may it by light and dark, hard and soft or dynamic and calm.

The only real problem is, that in the small view it looks as if both upper legs are visible but it is in fact the upper arm of the robot that sticks out between her feet. People must view this in full size to see what is going on there.

Great job!

P.S.: Agnry Faic.... nice ^^

Flowers10 responds:

Very well spotted!

Aaaarrrr!

Great pic overall and nice cartoony "translation" of Davy Jones.

The seaweed is a great addition.

The wooden leg turns a little thin on its end and the background looks a little empty, but apart from that it's great.

I especially like the shifty look in his eyes.

I should have done Fujin

I swear to god I initially wanted to do an MK spoof and try my hands on Fujin.

Too bad I didn't go for it, regarding your fantastic Raijin pic.

As already mentioned, it would probably look even better with a little stronger shading, because it would really add to the dynamic of the pic.

Apart from that it's pretty awesome.

Well, one could probably ask for a little more definition in the background, but I feel like that's where nitpicking would start.

Great job!

Late review is late

Nice pic you got there. Your lineart is awesome and I love the colour scheme.

The different colour of the dragon balls and our flood icon draws all my attention on them however.

At least you turned the nipples red to get them some more exposure too. :P

You should have made the actual char pop out a little more.

Other than that it's great.

Also puffy nipples are puffy. ^^

ZaneZansorrow responds:

indeed they are :3

As promised....

my review, although it may be a little late.

Great pic overall. I like the painting-like look of the background, it really makes the actual chars stand out.

The only tiny little flaw to me is, that there is some kind of sketchy lineart on parts of the left guard and none on the right guard.

Other than that it's awesome.

I had to look up those Nio Guards of course to get an idea of them and I must say, you managed to give them some kind of sublime or even divine appearance. More than most stone statues and paintings I saw have for sure. So that worked out great.

I especially like the perspective, the facial expressions and of course your colours.

Great job!

My thoughts exactly

Stickam is bothering all of us every now and then, amirite?

I like the colours, especially the strong saturated orange and the popping blue eyes.

The way he shrugs and his facial expression are awesome and bring the mood across very well.

The text is not so good, but then again not such a big deal if it stays the way it is either. The sky background could have reached to the right a little bit more, like were the actual speech bubble starts. But again not such a big deal.

Interesting how the shading is all soft but still makes the dino pop out well. I also like the noise / grain you added to the skin.

Good job!

Love it

This is a great entry. Besides the fact that the game was pretty cool and this one brings back these memories, it is also very well drawn.

First off I like your colouring and shading. Not only the technique but also the colour choice.

Secondly it's impressive how clean and smooth everything looks. Especially considering that it is hand drawn with several different tools. I would have smudged everything all over the pic I guess. :P

Finally I like how you coped with all the different light sources. I may not be an expert, but it seems you've managed them all well.

Overall a great piece!

Thank you a lot for your review!
Yes, that game is amazing!
There are some flaws with the lights, specially the ones coming from the fire.

By the way, whenever i'm making a drawing I always put another piece of paper over it so i don't have to place my hand over the drawing and smudge everything!

THANKS AGAIN!!
(sorry for taking so long to respond).
