Lol spidercat

You did a great job incorporating the thumbnail into the picture. And the idea itself is just freaking hilarious. Also great execution of course. I don't know what I like more, the mouse, the cat's tounge or the fact that on the end of the spider legs there are cat paws again.

Jobertson responds:

ahaha, glad you like it
the tongue is probably my favorite aspect. :P
Thanks for reviewing

That's a top-notch-super-duper...

mega-uber-perfect-brilliant-amazing-fantastic-appropriate-suitable image for the month of october, good sir! Suits the season, suits halloween, what more can we ask for? VincentGrey's pic would go better with a colder month btw.

I love the colour scheme, I love the motive and I love the damnation reflecting in his eyes.

So: Impeccably calendar-worthy!

Cheers for the world-play, Luwano. Looks like you're a guy who reads review responses ;)

Power Rangers look good

Ok, so far we have seen 5 Power Rangers and they really look good, the style suits them well, they make good wallpapers and I like the different poses a lot.

There is just one question that bothered me when I looked at all of them: Why is there no shading? Not a single shadow or lightspot. Don't get me wrong, it looks good, but I think lights and shadows would definitely add to that good look.

Judging from your other stuff, you obviously did it totally on purpose, not out of laziness or cause you "couldn't do it". What leaves me with my question. So.... why?

5/5 & 9/10

Blud-Shot responds:

What you see in the wallpaper are flats. They have no shading or lighting like you noticed. Once I finish the last power ranger I will add them all in one poster and I will add shading and lighting.

The wallpapers are something different, I have too many semi-realistic digital paintings. Its fun to see something different sometimes. Rest assured though lol I will give them depth later on.

Sooooo....

Ok first off, I'm not one to call "this deserves frontpage" usually AND I'm not even a big madness fan. But come on, this is an impeccable frontpage-worthy drawing.

Some may think it's a little dark, but for me it's pushing his eyes out even more and underlines how he poses a threat to everone around him. Half-hidden with his hand on the hilt of his sword ready to strike, that's just perfect for the motive.

It would be a good promotion for the Madness Day Art Contest, too.

In the end, I'm not the one to decide over frontpaged submissions and not the one to judge the Madness Day entries, but I definitely keep my fingers crossed for you. Even though I know there are still many high class entires like this to come.

Good luck!

5/5 & 10/10

Blud-Shot responds:

Thank you very much for your review. I never had a front page before and I don't even know who selects it and what is the criteria for it.

I did have the aim of making Hank look like an extreme threat to his enemies. I've seen some madness movies and the characters wreck like over 40-60 people.

Nice little Hobbit

The hands and feet are a little small, but I will overlook this for now. :D

It's pretty precise for watercolour and he really looks melancholic, good job.

TariC responds:

Thank you ^^
I know, that the hands and feet are too small... I still have much to learn.

I guess you got this wrong

PixelArt is something completely different. It means you more or less drop in every single pixel to create an image. What you have here is just pic with low resolution.

Other than that I kinda like it. Even though I would love to see "The woman with a face" instead. It has that painting look to it, but really looks unfinished.

KayaKure responds:

I know that I have placed it in the wrong category, and I have tried to change it, but it's like it not want to change it.

She were never meant to have a face, but I will maybe make a version with face when I got the time :)

Hmmmm....

... rated T? Ok, who are you and what happened to the real TheRealShadman?

No seriously, besides your awesome drawing I also love the composition. The way she's holding her tail, the facial expression... everything just matches well. But ain't the right arm a little slim?

Anyway great work again!

TheShadling responds:

Its behind her back.

Spacey floaty singey thingy

Nice twist on the Chow topic. I like the floating piano and mic. The glitter on the dress looks good and the beauty spot was a cool idea.

But I think you chose some wrong colors. I guess you picked similar colors for the dress and background intentionally, but it didn't turn out good for me. And almost the same with her skin and the piano, too similar. I think a black piano would have been a better choice for example. Generally the background looks a little blank, the curtain (I guess it is a curtain) ain't bad, but a little boring.

It's a good piece of art of course in my opinion. There's just some room for improvement. Overall your alien singer looks quite interesting.

BTW you should probably resize the whole thing a little or add some blur, to get rid of some pixelated lines which are still visible.

Still I like it!

8/10 & 4/5

J-qb responds:

thanks for the review. About the pixelated lines: I dont really know how they got there... The original image was twice as big; so I guess microsoft picture editor screwed with it when I resized it.

Waaaaay better

As I stated on the submission with all characters, I really like your designs. Plus, this time the photo is a lot better and so we can see your good work so much better, too.

Picking the right colour while working with clay can be difficult, but you did a perfect job with that. And this shot finally honours it.

I'm really looking forward to the other pieces. Keep it up!

PikaRobo responds:

Yep, I listened to the advice and took their picture on the counter that I usually do, it has the best lighting.

Good work! ^^

You did a great job on the bots and I really like the other characters too. It's interesting how you managed to give them different facial expressions. Nice!

Too bad that the photos are kinda dark. It reduces the quality of the pic and the colours look less saturated than they actually are. Even worse, cause you did so good on everything else.

But really, that's the only thing I need to criticize.

I also like the setting with the screws and metal parts everywhere around, that's a good idea.

PikaRobo responds:

Even I'm disappointed in the dark camera work. I tried to fix it but I only made it worse. I would say my camera ruins everything I try photograph. But thanks for commenting!

Remember: Still waters run wet.
