The animation was great. It doesn't make much sense yet, but I'm looking forward to a possible conclusion. Gotta say the sounds were awful some times, like whenever a corpse is eaten and when the guy is in the alley and whatever that is he is scared of is about to appear. I actually almost muted the video during that scene. When he's checking the doors in the alley, the animation jumps a bit fast.

Apart from those minor things, it's a really a good movie. You manage to create a captivating mood. Good job!

AntonM responds:

Thanks!
Yeah maybe some of the sounds and that ally scene music are a bit obnoxious haha :/ I wanted to go for the same feel that the Haunting Ground and Silent Hill soundtracks have, maybe I went a little too far on the noise side of things...

I still kinda like it though :M

I was a bit put off by the jagged and rather crude art, but what really made me laugh was the "bonjour" bit. Random humor is not really my favourite, but I think you did rather well. Keep it up.

Did you draw "ugly Batman" yourself or where is that from? Just curious.

LachlanInc responds:

The ugly Batman was drawn by my brother. And as for the jagged art, don't blame me. Blame Scratch, the animation program that I use, actually, it's not made specifically for animating. It's easy programming for people aged seven and over.

NAAAEEE!!! I sing and rejoice for it's a nice Clock Day movie! I already listened to ForNoFeason's song before and it fits perfectly for singing while under the shower. I might try it myself today, so if you don't hear from me again, the neighbours probably called the cops for my horrible interpretation of this song.

Happy belated Clock Day!

LUUUWWW!!! I have listened to this song so many times, I actually have sung it in the shower ...and in the car, and the kitchen, and in even in my sleep. haha!!

Happy belated Clock Day to you too!! :D

Thanks for the enlighenting tale on clock history and symmetry. Happy belated Clock Day!

chris-the-stick responds:

yes, i hope that you enjoyed it!
happy clockday!

It's a great take on the theme. I really like the art in this one and the style goes well with the music.

It would be more effective if the music looped a little more seamless, but apart from that it's all good.

I also like the sound effects you used.

And finally, I also spotted the hardware, nice addition and smart way to make me watch it again. ;)

Butzbo responds:

Guess i may add more little "easter eggs" on future loops, Thanks for the review ;D !

Wonderful....

It's not perfect in terms of animation and or drawing, but it's still very good. And you may know yourself that there are some minor flaws. However all that is negligible compared to the dynamic, the emotions and everything else, that is just soooo great.

It's an amazing music video and as far as I know there's no official music video for the song yet. This would be a great choice for sure.

You managed to accompany the songs story with beautiful and meaningful pictures. And you don't need to understand the lyrics (for those in the world who don't speak english) to see and feel what the song is about.

It's heart-touching!

:) wow thanks. yes my animation needs a lot more work :) i'll try to improve in future projects :D

Don't worry about the character

You shouldn't worry too much if your character resembles another one. Almost everything good has been done before and as long as you don't actually copy or rip-off things it's fine.

The animation is quite short, so instead of submitting it as it is, you should animate more scenes about Buxley's sadness and submit them as one.

I like the character, he looks very interesting and has got potential for some good stories.

I think you know yourself, that your animations still need to improve, but they are not bad at all. They WILL get better sooner or later so just keep em coming.

As mentioned before the scene is way too short, thus the low score.
I'd like to see more.

Ashmic responds:

thanks for such a nice comment, lol i just joined and i already have people chewin my ass off, haha, anyways thanks for the nice critisism XD i'll look into what you said <3 thank you

Very funny!!!

I really like the whole movie.

The gags are hilariously funny and the drawings are great. I laughed throughout the whole movie.

The angry faic christmas baubles looked fantastic, Tom and his crew should sell some in the store next year. ^^

Jazza responds:

YOUR THE FIRST to notice/mention the baubles. thank you! i love them. i was thinking, NG should make them and sell them in the store and it's kill over christmas.

Wow....

This was.... erm.... phew dunno what to say. It totally fascinated me.

You perfectly create a dark mood and pass it to the viewer at home.

I wonder what happens next....

Great work!

SmilingJoe343 responds:

This kind of response was what I had hoped for when making this movie. Thanks for the 10, a sequel will be out soon.

Some constructive critic

Let's start with some negative points....

- Short: What can I say about this?....It's just short. :)

- Soldiers "beaming": Sometimes soldiers disappear before they reach the end of the screen. Or they "jump" a little to the right or left. Keep a closer look on the onion skinning. This should fix it.

- Tweening: In the second scene there's a soldier running from right to left. The background has a nice "up and down" but your sprite is running in a straight line. A motion tween along a path would make it look better. This way your tank could be riding the dunes instead of flying in the air.

- No story: A story is not mandatory, but definitely gets you a better rating.

- Auto-Loop: Make it stop and add a replay button. Auto-replay makes every video look worse than it actually is (except SOME videos when the auhors use it on purpose)

Now up to the good points....

+ Sounds: You added sound effects and they almost always match. Nice one.

+ Music: Good choice, but you should credit the music.

+ Animation: Besides the "beaming" mentioned above, your sprite animation looks good for a first work.

Finally, it's a little sprite movie, but nothing outstanding. A good first step, but now you should keep on practicing. NG has many tutorials, maybe they help you. (Even I learned one or two things there, and I've never finished a flash)

GARYTHEDUCK responds:

ILL TRY TO IMPROVE
